After a review of Patch’s minor injury and a discussion of the woes of aging, our hosts get down to business. One of their Dreamers Circle students submitted this week’s dream, which pertained to starting a business. Since Sara also teaches female business owners at Becoming Magikal Academy, she knows a thing or two about how dreams factor in to business ownership.
Starting a Business – Dream Story
The dream opened with the dreamer living with a group of other women in a dorm. All of her roommates had babies, but she did not. Despite this fact, she pushed around an empty baby carriage. She kept getting the stroller caught in the decorations, specifically the curtains she hung up at the entrance. After considering that the curtain rod needed more support, she went through the curtain once more and discovered a newborn baby lying on a blue pillow, wearing only a wet diaper.
She picked up the child, taking it as a sign that she was meant to take care of it. At first, the kid seemed to be a completely normal baby boy. Once she changed and bathed the infant, however, it was suddenly a baby girl with no eyes, and no brain. Her mouth formed the shape of a heart, thus making her seem more like a doll than a live baby. Nevertheless, the dreamer was determined to care for the girl, who desperately needed her.
Dream Analysis About Starting a Business
Patch started his analysis by noting that the dreamer provided her own analysis after retelling her dream. Since she is an avid listener of the podcast, and a Dreamers Circle member, she has learned what certain symbols in dreams mean. The dreamer also recognized specific symbolism pertaining to her own life, which was helpful to our hosts in interpreting the rest.
First, the dreamer recognized the other women in the dorm to represent the female entrepreneurs in the Dreamers Circle group. Their babies represented the businesses. After a failed attempt at starting a business in her real life, she was a bit gun shy about trying again. Although she had told herself she needed to step out and create a business plan, she busied herself by waffling on business names, logos, and other peripherals instead. These tasks, of course, showed up in her dream in the form of decorating and fussing over the curtain rod.
Once she got past the less important aspects of her purpose, she discovered the baby. The infant represented her neglected task of actually starting a business. Sara noted the change in the baby’s gender once the dreamer started caring for it. When the dreamer devoted her energy to the thing that really mattered, the baby changed from the masculine “doing” trait to a “receptive” female. Once she received the universe’s task of caring for the baby/business, the other aspects of her purpose became clear.
Since she had, in real life, raised a dog born with no eyes, she was certainly qualified to raise this eyeless “child”. In much the same way that a baby with no thoughts needs someone to think for her, the dreamer needed to provide the brainpower for her real life business.
Starting a Business Dream – The Big Picture
Sara tied it all together, pointing out that, in the end, potential clients don’t care about your logo, storefront decorations, or even your website. The purpose of your business is to help others. They have a need, and you have the skills to help them meet that need. If you truly know that starting a business is your purpose, you will seek out guidance to make it a reality. You bring a unique passion and energy to the world, so don’t waste it! Seek out your life’s purpose and then get after it!
