In this episode, Patch and Sara decode a listener’s dream. The dream, on the surface, is about a son coming to terms with his father, and then his father apologizing to his wife . If you’ve been around here very long though, you know that dreams are symbolic! So, Patch and Sara dive into the dream and suggest to the dreamer that he is in need of balancing his masculine and feminine energy in order to bring them into alignment.
Dream Story – Balancing Masculine and Feminine Energy
A new listener awoke from a very intense dream, then managed to record all of the details. For background, his mother died over 20 years ago, and he decided five years ago to cut his father out of his life.
In the dream, his family was moving out of the house he grew up in. He called his father and told him he grew up believing sex was evil because of what his dad had told him. Father and son had a tearful exchange, and then he helped his parents move back into the old house. All of the clutter had been sorted, and everything had its place. He then told his dad that it was time to apologize to his mom. His father apologized to his mom, filling him with both sadness and relief.
Decoding the Balancing Masculine and Feminine Energy Dream
Patch believed this new listener sharing his dream was no coincidence. Our host reminded us of his three rules of dream interpretation:
- Dreams always contain symbolism. The best place to start when interpreting them is with the symbolic.
- Your subconscious is always trying to add new information and wisdom to your life through your dreams.
- Once you understand the message of your dream, you must apply its wisdom to your life.
He then continued by noting that our fathers and mothers are the first examples we have in life of masculine and feminine energy. Sara adds that, regardless of our gender identity, each of us possesses masculine and feminine energies. The childhood home represents the user’s childhood viewpoints, built by his parents. Masculine energy, in the form of his father’s teachings, built a faulty structure in the form of his skewed views on sex. His dream encouraged him to come to terms with how his masculine and feminine sides were out of alignment, due to his upbringing. By forgiving his parents, he can move on. Weeping in the end of the dream symbolizes letting go and growing in real life. Sara added that sex in dreams symbolizes union, and uniting masculine and feminine energy empowers you to reach any goal you need to.
